16 Government Agencies Bring Free Public Services to SM CDO Downtown This June 29–30

The Department of Finance (DOF) is bringing one of its flagship projects—the Government-Owned or -Controlled Corporations’ (GOCCs) Service Caravan to Cagayan de Oro (CDO) to help residents and nearby communities immediately access essential government services.

The GOCCs’ Service Caravan will be held from June 29 to 30 at the SM CDO Downtown mall (Event Center, Ground Floor). Entrance is free and no registration is required. Those interested may simply walk in and avail of the services needed, receive assistance on transactions, and learn more about the programs and benefits available.

The CDO leg will feature an expanded lineup of 16 participating government agencies, offering a wider range of services to the residents of Northern Mindanao.

At the Caravan, attendees can settle their social protection and employment-related concerns with the Social Security System (SSS) and the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), including account updates, registration, benefits, loans, retirement, and other member services.

They can also visit and inquire about health benefits, apply for loans, and access housing and savings-related services with the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) and Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG).

The public can also access essential government transactions such as TIN verification and tax-related assistance from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), National ID and civil registry services from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), and assistance on travel requirements from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

They can also process their Postal ID applications and secure personalized stamp services from the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost). Motorists may also avail of the Land Transportation Office’s (LTO) free theoretical driving course for student permit applicants.

For micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and Overseas Filipino Workers’ (OFWs) families, the Small Business Corporation (SBC) will assist in the loan application and offer other financing programs such as the e-transport loan and franchising loan facility, among others.

The Land Bank of the Philippines (LANDBANK) and the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) will showcase banking services, MSMEs and agricultural lending programs, and other financial solutions, while the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) and Privatization and Management Office (PMO) will provide information on assets for sale for interested investors.

Farmers and fisherfolk registered in the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA) can also inquire about insurance assistance from the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC).

Meanwhile, the PHIVIDEC Industrial Authority (PIA) will showcase its role in investment promotion and industrial growth in the region, which helps create more jobs and generate inclusive economic growth for local communities.

Through the GOCC Caravan, the DOF is speeding up the delivery of public services by bringing the government closer to the people, ensuring that more Filipinos across the nation can immediately address their needs.
